Looking to pamper yourself at one of the best spas in Prague? We’re here to help!

From medieval castles and astronomical clocks to pub crawls and beer gardens, there’s no shortage of things to experience in the incredible city of Prague. While it’s understandable to want to see as much as you can during your trip, it’s just as important to slow down and devote a bit of time to relaxation. After all, this is your vacation and touring sites all day long can be exhausting.

Fortunately, you can combine tourism and relaxation by booking a trip to a spa. Whether it’s a pampering massage treatment or a revitalizing facial, a visit to the spa will allow you to de-stress so you can enjoy your holiday to the fullest. Disconnect from technology, change into a fluffy bathrobe and slippers, and ask a therapist to work their magic on your tired muscles.

Of course, tourists aren’t the only folks in need of pampering. Walking on these cobblestone streets day in and day out day definitely takes a toll on your body, and a nice spa treatment can be a godsend.

The Best Spas in Prague

The Czech Republic is known for its spectacular spa towns, including Karlovy Vary and Marianske Lazne, whose main attractions include mineral springs and wellness resorts. But you might be wondering what an urban metropolis such as Prague has to offer when it comes to relaxation.

Fortunately, you don’t even have to go beyond the city’s center to find world-class spas with all types of treatments.

What to Expect from the Best Spas in Prague

If you’ve never been to a spa before, it’s a good idea to get familiar with the culture and etiquette so you know what to look for.

Full-service spas feature communal wellness areas and private treatment rooms. Communal areas are where you can find facilities such as heated pools, cold plunge pools, steam rooms, and saunas. More often than not, you don’t need to book these in advance. Show up, buy a day (or multi-day) pass, and spend a few hours lounging by the pool or taking a dip in the whirlpool tub.

Treatments must be booked ahead of time because they involve a private session with a therapist. Menus often feature a variety of massage therapies, facials, body wraps, and salt scrubs. Upgrades such as aromatherapy oils, hot stones, and candles, might also be included. Posh spas are known for using designer cosmetics and oils.

All spas should offer bathrobes, and slippers, along with lockers where you can store your personal belongings for the day. When it comes to nudity, be prepared to see plenty of it in the saunas and steam rooms. Aside from being a cultural norm, it’s considered unhygienic to wear a bathing suit in the sauna. If you don’t feel comfortable just wrap yourself in a towel. Be respectful and keep the talking at a low minimum when you’re in the sauna or steam room. This is your chance to relax!

With that out of the way, it’s time to search for the perfect spa. Whether you want a weekend in a luxurious hotel wellness center or a 60-minute massage treatment to unwind after a tour of Prague Castle, we’ve put together a list of the best spas in Prague.
